Facebook: Block Someone Who Already Blocked You

Facebook: Block Someone Who Already Blocked You

Posted on April 11, 2022 by Madalina Dinita 8 Comments

If you want to prevent someone from seeing your posts or tagging you in theirs, you can block them. The good news is that Facebook won’t notify people when you do that. They’ll notice something’s not right when they try to tag you or check your timeline. If you notice someone blocked you on Facebook, you can block them back. Follow the steps below to get the job done.

How to Block Someone on Facebook When They Blocked You

When someone has blocked you on Facebook, you cannot pull up their profile page. You need to go to your block list, enter their Facebook ID, and hit the Block button to block them back.

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click on Blocking in the left-hand pane
  4. Go to Block usersFacebook-block-someone
  5. Enter the Facebook ID of the person you want to block
  6. Hit the Block button

To find someone’s Facebook ID, ask a friend to go to that person’s Facebook profile and click on About. Have them copy the ID, which should look something like https://www.facebook.com/john.doe. Paste the ID in your Blocking Page and hit the Block button. In this manner, whoever blocked you first remains blocked on your end.

What Happens When You Block Someone Back on Facebook?

When you block someone on Facebook, they won’t be able to see anything on your timeline. When you block someone you’re friends with, you’ll also unfriend them. Additionally, they won’t be able to post on your timeline, tag you, send you a friend request, message you, or send you invites.

How to Check if You’ve Been Blocked on Facebook

  • Go to your Friends list and check if the person you suspect has blocked you is still on the list.
  • Try searching for that person’s name on Facebook. If nothing shows up and you know they haven’t deleted their profile, they’ve blocked you.
  • Try tagging them or send them an invite to an event. If these options are unavailable, that indicates you’ve been blocked.
  • Check your Facebook feed. If you can’t see any of their posts, they probably unfriended or blocked you.
  • Send them a message via Messenger. You won’t be able to do that if they’ve blocked you. As a quick reminder, when you block someone on Facebook, you automatically block them on Messenger too.

Conclusion

If you want to block someone back on Facebook, you need to get their Facebook ID and paste it into the Blocking Page. Hit the Block button to effectively block that person. You can always unblock someone, but you won’t automatically be friends again.

It worked for me, but only when I did it from my phone. It wouldn’t work from my computer.

I don’t have an option to block them. But an option to take a break. I blocked them and unblocked them. But now want to reblock them. Might be a time limit.

How can you block someone who has blocked you? Their name does not come up when you type it in. This is ridiculous

If someone blocked me and then I blocked them, is there any way I can unblock them now so they can unblock me too?
It seems that this option is gone once both sides block each other.
