Modern browsers are designed to include a range of helpful quality of life features. One of the most common is the automatic filling of form data. Form autofill is designed primarily to save you the time and effort of repeatedly entering the same data, such as delivery addresses. An added benefit is that it means that you don’t need to worry about making any typos, as the data will be automatically filled.
Form autofill works by saving a local copy of the data that you submit to web forms. The main types of data that form autofill saves are addresses and payment details. While you may agree that having this data automatically filled in for you can be helpful and time-saving, you may not want your browser to store a local copy of this information.
Thankfully, it’s generally easy to control what form data your browser has saved and whether it can use it to automatically fill forms.
Configuring the form autofill settings in the Ecosia browser on Android is particularly simple via the in-app settings. To be able to access the settings, tap the triple-dot icon in the top-right corner of the app.

Next, to open the settings themselves, tap “Settings” which will be second from the bottom of the drop-down menu.

In the settings, tap the first option “Autofill and payments” to access the autofill settings.

To prevent Ecosia from automatically filling data into forms, tap the “Auto-fill forms” slider to the off position.
Additionally, you can also manage and add new autofill data for both addresses and card details by tapping on the relevant options.

After tapping on “Addresses” or “Cards” you can see the list of saved entries. To add a new address entry, tap “Add address”. To modify an existing entry, simply tap it. To delete an entry, tap the trash icon in the top bar when modifying the entry.
Tip: The process to add or modify card data is the same as for addresses.

To add an address, you need to fill out all of the fields marked with asterisks. The exact layout of the form may vary depending on the country that you select.
