How to Turn off YouTube Notifications in Chrome

How to Turn off YouTube Notifications in Chrome

Posted on September 19, 2019 by Kat Armstrong Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but I think I now have an even gazillion channels I am subscribed to on YouTube. That may be a slight exaggeration, I suppose. There are maybe fifteen or so. However, they are all very active channels and I am sick and tired of seeing the notifications for each of them every time I open Chrome – which is constantly.

Turning these off is fairly painless, so let’s get to it!

How to Turn Off YouTube Notifications in Chrome on Desktop

Open up YouTube (while logged into the site) on Chrome. Click your profile photo in the top-right corner and choose ”Settings.”

On the new left-side menu, click ”Notifications.”

In this next window, you can first choose to receive emails about your own YouTube activity or only service announcements. The next option down is things you may – or may not – wish to have emails sent to you for. The next option is our honey pot: click ”Turn OFF” next to the Chrome symbol under ”Desktop Notifications.”

There are several other types of notifications you may wish to toggle off or on, depending on your preferences.

That’s all there is to it! No more pesky notifications from YouTube in Chrome when you are trying to work. What other YouTube or Chrome problems are you facing? How can I help?

Happy video watching – or not!
