Xiaomi is a Chinese company that specializes in manufacturing smart and mobile phones and also invests in other ventures like mobile apps, laptops, bags, earphones, shoes, fitness bands, amongst other things. It was first launched in 2010 by founder Lei Jun and currently has its headquarters in Beijing, China. It is one of the Fourth biggest companies that have self-developed mobile chips.

The company has launched four phone brands over the years. Pocophone is very popular in India and Redmi has gone on to be one of the classiest phones in 2020. MI brands are everywhere. Their latest brand launched is the Black Shark.

It generated revenue of about 24 billion dollars in 2018 alone and has a net income of 13 billion Chinese yen. Xiaomi has subsidiaries like Youpin, Meitu, and Sunmi with offices and employees numbering over sixteen thousand all over the world.

What’s Different About Black Shark 3 Phones?

The difference between Black Shark and other brands of Xiaomi phones is the fact that this is purely a gaming phone. The first Black Shark was Black Shark two launched in India last year.  At the beginning of this year, there was much talk about the expected successor of the Black Shark two. The phone was expected to run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with a refresh rate of 120Hz and QHD resolution.

Specs

The company announced the release of the Black Shark 3 on March 3rd, 2020 and it was released three days later with GSM, CDMA, HSPA, EVDO, LTE, and 5G network. The body size of the much-awaited phone is 168.7 x 77.3 x 10.4 millimeters which measure as 6.64 x 3.04 x 0.41 in inches and weighs 222 grams about twice the weight of an average noodles pack.

It supports two sim cards and the body is made of aluminum with a glass front. It has a display type AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors and the screen is about 6.67 inches in size. It also came with the latest Android in the market, android 10 with Chipset Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 7 nanometers and above. It, however, unfortunately, does not support an external memory drive. The internal hard drive is either 128 or 256 GB. The 128 comes with either 8 GB of RAM or 12 GB RAM and 256 comes with a 12GB RAM.

Features

The camera is the same as any other average smartphone with 13MP ultrawide and 5MP depth with the LED flash, HDR and panorama photo features. The selfie camera is a whopping 20MP with amazing sound recognition and video quality for easy HD videos. There is also a loudspeaker feature enabled with stereo speakers. The WLAN is Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth available is 5.0, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive

It supports GPS tracking but has no radio with two USB connectors. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back that can be used to lock the hone. But all of these make no sense without a gaming phone that the battery lasts very long. With that much power and memory available, users also expected it to come with a very strong battery that can take several hours of gaming. Although the company initially promised users a battery that was about 5000mAh minimum, the battery that came with this phone was a non-removable Li-Po 4720 MAh battery.

Battery

For regular phones, this battery is quite strong. But for a gaming phone, it is not very impressive. One very big advantage of this battery is that it charges completely in less than 40 minutes with an 18 watts Magnetic charging. The available colors are silver, grey and black. The phones cost between 400 to 600 US dollars depending on where and how you are buying it. Users have attests that the 4720 MAh has a life span of about 8 hours of gaming.

The Black Shark 3 supposedly has top-end specifications and features that will make it a perfect fit for gamers with no heating or lagging involved. This phone should be a dream come true for most gaming addicts, since you can get richer and more powerful graphics on your mobile phone.
