Password managers are generally known for securely storing passwords for you. Platforms such as Bitwarden also allow you to save other pieces of sensitive information. Payment card details are one example of this. By storing your card details in your password manager, you don’t have to worry about forgetting them or about having to check them every time you want to buy something online.
Saving your card details in Bitwarden allows you to autofill the details or copy and paste them manually. One thing that you may not like, though, is that the payment card entry is always visible in the default “Tab” tab of the extension pane. While this may be convenient for usability, it also makes it more easily discovered by other people while being useless on most pages.
Thankfully, if you don’t like your payment card entries being visible by default in the extension pane, you can disable this.
Tip: If you do so, the details can still be found in the “My vault” tab; they just don’t appear in the default “Tab” tab. Therefore, hiding the card details will slightly increase the complexity of the process to auto-fill card data.
How to Hide Your Payment Card Details from the Default “Tab” Page
To configure your extension settings, you first need to open the browser extension pane. To do so, click on the Bitwarden extension icon. Next, switch to the “Settings” tab, then scroll to the bottom and click on “Options.”
On the options page, tick the checkbox labeled “Don’t show cards on tab page.”
By default, the Bitwarden browser extension shows all saved payment card entries on the default “Tab” tab. By following the steps in this guide, you can disable this feature if you prefer.
