We have to keep up with so many apps that we have to have an app to store the locations of all our apps. Inevitably, our favorite pictures and videos are on our Flipagram that is connected to a photo frame at home. Spotify and Amazon have our favorite music online and stored on our laptop. 24me and Google Calendar have our schedules and reminders spread out all over the place. We may even have more than one phone number to track. We need these apps to converge in one place to make our lives simpler. They are necessary but incredibly cumbersome to track. We will discuss some of the best Mac file sync programs available to us today.
ChronoSync
ChronoSync is a very versatile utility for synchronizing Mac files and data. This tool is confined for use between Mac and iOS devices, which may be limiting if you are using Android and other systems. It is great for syncing your Apple devices, but you can perform backups and restoring. Syncing files and documents work great in ChronoSync, but this app has a wide array of features for backing up your important data. These backing up features make ChronoSync stand out from other apps. The backup features include backing up from remote locations and creating bootable backup for resolving a total hard drive failure. ChronoSync is reliable and fast. Expect to sync multiple files simultaneously.
ChronoSync does cost $50. This includes a great app with reliable and responsive tech support.
GoodSync
GoodSync is more flexible than ChronoSync. It has the same power when it comes to syncing and backup/restore as ChronoSync; however, you will have many more options for the devices and software that you want to synchronize. GoodSync works well with Google Drive, Azure, Amazon S3, FTP, other computers and mobile devices. Back up is seamless between DAV, portable drives and mobile devices. Expect frequent updates, as the developers are always at the cutting edge of the technology. Be prepared to incur some financial pressure from this app, as well. The individual option is the same price as ChronoSync, at $50. Upgrading to a server option will cost about $3000. There are some complaints that GoodSync does not sync contacts, schedulers and apps built in to your electronic device. There is some tradeoff for the number of devices and software that you will use to synchronize your data.
SyncMate
SyncMate is quite the package that performs a great deal of work for you. The aim of the app is to fold a lot of choices and performance features into one simple interface. It has a great reputation for being able to work with many mobile devices, including iPhones and Android. SyncMate will download onto Windows and Apple devices. There are a great many cloud syncing options; it works with Google, Dropbox, iCloud, Outlook and many other cloud options. It is known for its ease of use and for having a low learning curve. This software is free, but there is an Expert option that cost $40. The upgrade will open more options. Further, SyncMate will allow you to synchronize your music, contacts, calendars and other personal management tools.
Commander One
Commander One has many of the features that you would expect from syncing software. It will support iOS, macOS X and Android. It is flexible and can support syncing between devices and the cloud. There is great news here as moving content between Mac and Android is accomplished through simple drag and drop processes; although, you cannot drag and drop files from your Android to Mac device. If your settle for the free version, you will be cut off from most of the useful features of the app. The upgrade will cost you $29.95, if you find that the free version is not enough to cover your needs.
Apeaksoft iPhone Transfer
Apeaksoft’s iPhone Transfer is a professional data recovery system and it will sync file transfer between PC, iOS and Mac. This powerful app will sync between all iOS devices. It supports transferring contacts, calendar entries, text messages and music. Photos, books and text messages are all synchronized so that you will feel as though you are handling one single device. Like the other apps listed here, there is a free option. You can upgrade for more features if you pay $47.96. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive for this software.
Syncios
Syncios must be included in this list. With Syncios, you also get a built-in converter. You can manipulate MP3 files so that they can be ringtones. Syncios allows you to sync your pictures, music and apps right from your iPad or Android phone. The learning curve is low. There is a charge to upgrade to better features that will cost you about $34.95. Beware of complaints about the app freezing. The trade-off is its ability to convert files.
