Apple 13 Inch MacBook Pro Laptop Review

By Mona Leave a Comment

It’s no news that Apple is in the business of impressing us with the launch of every new device. A pro user will appreciate what this laptop is offering. Apple is bringing an efficient laptop that can serve all your computing needs to the table once again.

Apple 13-inch MacBook isn’t an entry-level laptop; it’s for those who need a powerhouse computer such as photographers or other creators who need a strong workstation.

With the launch of this new laptop, there have been negative comments that are mostly about the price. Notwithstanding, it is a laptop worth having.

Pros & Cons of Using Apple Products

If you are considering any of the Apple products that are on the market today, it is important to consider the whole Apple ecosystem and the advantages and drawbacks that come with it. Even if you own a single product, you will be pressured to use Apple-exclusive features and services.

While for some this may be a dealbreaker, others will find it beneficial to have such a well-rounded system.

Pros

– Exquisite design
– Seamless hardware and software compatibility
– Native apps and features
– Excellent customer support

Cons

– Not moddable
– Lacking third-party product support
– Generally expensive

You can purchase the MacBook Pro off Amazon today and experience all of its features. It’s slick design and considerable power will suit both those who will use it in a working environment, as well as those browsing the web at home.

Features

With a keyboard as sleek as the one on this laptop, you can comfortably type for hours without feeling the brunt of extended work. Apple boasts it’s a quieter keyboard, that has the butterfly mechanism. They claim that it does not make a noisy tapping sound when typing fast which can be disturbing both to you and the people around.

Another new addition is the rubber layers underneath each keycap which should prolong their durability. Furthermore, the trackpad is extremely responsive with no lagging or slow clicking.

The touch bar is another solid feature as you can easily switch to the volume and brightness controls, media and even the function keys with it though you need to be careful so as not to accidentally touch the key edge.

For security and privacy, Apple introduces the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. You don’t have to input your passwords all the time but can now unlock the laptop or to buy something on iTunes with a finger tap. With just the touch of your finger, you can unlock apps, quickly access documents and system settings, plus switch between users without needing to type a password.

Another great feature is the Thunderbolt 3 ports. It comes with 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, unlike earlier models that have two. It works well with USB-C connections, so you can charge your device on the go using the Apple 13-Inch MacBook. However, it is a little disappointing that it doesn’t come with a full USB port or even a microSD card slot.

With the activation of Apple’s voice assistant, you can maneuver anything on this machine; Siri makes the work easier, providing you with better accessibility.  It is also equipped with 2.7GHz quad-core i7-8559U, plus 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory.

This Apple MacBook runs at a fast pace with its 1TB SSD storage which is the fastest SSD ever in a laptop. It comes in handy when you have a heavy workload to process in minimal time. In the case of transferring big files, it doesn’t take up a considerable amount of space and speed. If you need a responsive and very fast laptop, then this is the perfect pick.

In Graphics, it comes with Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, which isn’t great for such a high-end laptop. There are other laptops that are higher quality it in this aspect, but overall it is quite decent.

Look and Design

Apple has never failed to deliver in the uniqueness of their products. This 13-inch laptop comes with a shallow keyboard, and a very thin build so you don’t have to worry about its weight. Its light weight makes it extremely portable. A metallic alloy body and a sheer finish give it a very stylish and pleasing look.

It comes with a 2560×1600-pixel retina resolution, although this isn’t overly sharp, it will deliver clear images. The P3 wide color gamut compensates this slight flaw. It has a bright LED backlighting, which comes in handy to produce deep blacks and contrasting bright whites as well.

It is also equipped with True Tone which helps to adjust your screen color to your preference. The built-in sensor is used to detect when little, moderate, or heavy lighting is needed for a perfect viewing experience.

It comes with the 3.5mm headphone port, so you can use your regular headphones on this laptop and listen to your music while working.

Price

As mentioned earlier, the price of the Apple 13 Inch MacBook has discouraged buyers even though you would get your money’s worth. Costing $2,700, Apple should have moved the bar a bit lower. However, with many upgrades on this Apple 13-Inch MacBook, you get the higher price.

Battery

Apple boasts 10 hours of working time on this MacBook Pro. This is a little disappointing as a laptop this expensive should offer user time of more than 10 hours.

Activities carried out on this laptop will vary, so with low usage, you might get more than the estimated 10 hours. It takes about 1 hr 45 mins to go from fully drained to fully charged, which is quite fast.

Pros & Cons of MacBook Pro

As with any products, there are advantages and drawbacks when you consider the MacBook Pro. It is very efficient and quite powerful, with an incredibly elegant design. But this does come with a pretty high price tag, and not always with the best value.

Pros

– 4 Thunderbolt ports
– Light and portable
– Clear and awesome speakers
– Apple voice assistant “Siri” built-in

– Fastest SSD ever

Cons

– Very expensive
– Moderate battery life
– Lack of ports

Verdict

The Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro is perfect for video editing and photography professionals. With its sharp resolution, you can never go wrong. Being on the expensive side brings about mixed feelings, but if it is in your budget this is a good pick. It is perfect if you want to have great performance and a powerful display.

Its speed is a bonus, so you get to work without lags with its ability to be fast and responsive.

If you plan to use it for work, you would need to get an Ethernet adapter to connect to the Thunderbolt 3 port due to its lack of ports but at this point, a few extra dollars will be worth it.
