By Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

When exposed to blue light during the day, you don’t feel that it hurts your eyes. But, at night, you definitely feel some type of discomfort. Within that ache is blue light that is a blue light that is making your brain think you should be awake, which explains why you{re having a hard time going back to sleep.

By using an app that eliminates that blue light, you can safely use your devices at night. Blue light filter apps place a red overlay that results in the color temperature being changed which makes reading less painful in low-light areas. What apps are worth a look into?

1. Blue Light Filter – Night Mode

The Blue Light Filter app is an easy to use app that keeps things simple. It won’t confuse you with too many features, and it gets the job done. As soon as you open the app, there are options to choose the color temperature.

The color temperature options are Night Shift, Candlelight, Dawn, incandescent Lamp, and Fluorescent Lamp. Despite which one you choose, there are options to change the intensity, and also add relaxing sounds (you’ll need to install another for this).

With the slider, it’s also possible to dim the screen as much as you want. There is also a timer where you can schedule the on and off times.

2. Blue Light Filter – Night Shift

Blue Light Filter – Night Mode also keeps things simple when it comes to choosing a blue light filter. The app also has five blue light filters ready for you to use as soon as you launch the app. If you’re not happy with any of those five filters, tap on the plus button to create your own filters.

When creating your own filter, it’s possible to adjust things such as Intensity, Dim, Temperature, Color, and RGB. Once you’ve set up your ideal filter, tap on the floppy disk button to save your changes.

The app also has a pro version where it offers an ultra-dark filter, multiple schedules, dark theme, lifetime free upgrades, and the ads disappear. The Pro version goes for $2.99.

3. Blue Light Filter – Screen Dimmer

Blue Light Filter – Screen Dimmer offers a little something extra besides protecting your eyes from the harmful blue light. When you first launch the app, it will ask you a series of questions about any eye problems you’re experiencing to create a personal eye care plan for you.

Depending on the options you select, the Tap on the Discover option at the bottom left and enjoy visual skill games and eye exercises that come with a short video.

When it comes to removing the blue light, the app offers quite a few options. The different modes that the app has are Leisure Mode, Night Mode, Bedtime Mode, Entertainment Mode, and Sunlight Mode.

Use the slider at the bottom of your display to dim the screen to your liking. The power button allows you to turn off the blue light filter. For easy access, the app also adds control in the notification bar where you can access options such as switch, eye care, and settings.

4. Bluelight Filter for Eye Care

If you’re looking for an app that keeps thing simple, definitely give Bluelight Filter for Eye Care. This is also an excellent app for anyone who can’t stand those apps whose options are too small with anyone with visual problems to see.

Press the up and down arrows to change the intensity of the filter. Below those arrows, choose the color of the filter. If you want to set up a timer, tap on each of the times. The schedule time will be set to 5 pm and 6 pm respectively, but by tapping on them, you can easily change them.
