When you first got your Motorola G6 Play smartphone, it was fast, and there was plenty of space for your files. With time, that available space gets smaller and smaller until it was practically gone. When that happens, it’s usually time for an SD card.
Once you’ve chosen the right SD card for your device, it’s time to insert it. This is a process that is beginner-friendly and won’t take too much of your time, and will result in your finally getting that extra space you need.
Ejecting SD/SIM Card Tray
First, ensure that your phone is off. Then, with your phone facing up, use the insertion tool that came with your phone (or a paper clip) to open the card tray on the left side of your device. Insert the tool in that dot like hole at the side of the phone, then gently pull the tray out of the slot.
Inserting the SD/SIM Card Tray
The SD card needs to be placed in the tray with the gold contacts facing down. I am using a Dual-SIM phone, that explains the two SIM. The Moto G6 doesn’t have to be like this one to follow these instructions. Be careful when opening the tray, so you don’t accidentally break it.
Gently slide the tray back in its place with the card facing up. When the card is in its place, it’s time to turn on your phone. When your Moto has completely rebooted, you should see a notification regarding the SD card. It should give you the option to explore or eject the card.
To double check you’ve inserted the SD card correctly, go to “Settings” > “Storage” > “SD card“. If you see the card option with no error messages, congrats, you now have more space on your Motorola G6.
Adding and removing the SD card is easy. There is just one more step to keep on mind when removing the card, but it’s also beginner friendly. Did you come across any issues while removing the card? If so, let us know.
