How to Add Music to Your Instagram Stories

How to Add Music to Your Instagram Stories

By Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

You want your Instagram stories to be perfect. You look for just the right angle to make your picture or video just perfect. You add your filters and maybe even too many stickers, but who cares, it’s your story. But, if you want to add that finishing touch, why not add music?

Don’t worry; you don’t have to be a tech genius to do that. Instagram makes it extremely easy for you to add not just any song, but a song you’ll actually like. You’ll have so many music options to choose from you won’t know where to start.

Adding Music

Adding the perfect song to your Instagram story is easy.  Once you have Instagram open, tap on the Your Story option on the top-left on the app’s main page. After deciding what other things you want to add to your story, take the picture or video.

At the top right, you’ll see a ticker with a happy face on it, select it and you’ll see various stickers options. On the second row, you should see a sticker that says music, tap on it, and you should see multiple moods and music genres for you to choose from.

You can choose from genres such as hip-hop, rock, R&B and soul, pop, country, latin, electronic holiday, and more. It’s also possible to make the clip as long as you want and what part of the video you want the music to play in.

To decide what part of the song should be played, drag the bar at the bottom. If you tap on the time option at the bottom, that’ll decide how long the clip will be. Unfortunately, the clips can’t be too long since they can only be up to 15 seconds long. You can choose from three different styles when it comes to how the song is shown.

Add Music from Spotify

If you’ve followed the above steps but don’t yet have the music sticker option, you can use Spotify to add music. Make sure you have the song you want to add ready and before you start recording the song needs to be playing.

Start recording your video and Instagram will pick up on the song you’re playing on Spotify. The sound quality is not that bad but the louder the volume, the better, at least in my opinion.

Conclusion

Adding music to your Instagram stories doesn’t have to be difficult. You can add your favorite tune by either using the built-in feature or by using Spotify if you don’t see the Music sticker. Now, your stories are going to be better than ever before. Do you usually music to your Instagram stories? Share your experience in the comments.
