4 Must-have Video Editing Apps for Android

4 Must-have Video Editing Apps for Android

By Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

Editing a video is easier now than it ever was before. You don’t need those complicated video editing software that only someone with a vast knowledge of technology would know how to use.

Thanks to the large variety of free video editing apps on Google Play, editing your videos on your Android device is easier. But, which ones are worth installing? The following video editing apps are the ones I recommend for all Android users.

1. VideoShow Video Editor

VideoShow is one of the most popular video editing apps for Android.  It’s available in its free and Premium version. If you go Pro, you can enjoy options such as no watermark, no ads, 1080p export, GIF export, video adjust, pixelate, voice effects and more. The price could vary depending on which country you’re in, but the price will be around US$20.

The free version still offers excellent features such as various themes. For example, you can add themes such as elegant, Loveday, with you, flashmob, travel log, rose and more.

When you choose a theme, the app will download it automatically and add the theme to your video. The themes with a crown indicate that it is only available if you go Pro. In the Music Tab, you can add one song for the entire video, but if you want to add more than one song, select the multi-music song option.

In the sound effect tab, you can add sounds such as a barking dog, someone screaming, slap, whip, and many more. Slide the video to where you want to place the sound and press the plus sign. You’ll know where you set the sound effect since it will be highlighted in red.

In the Edit tab, you can use tools such as clip edit, subtitle, transition, filter, effects, stickers, doodle, and add clips. If you go Pro, you can also use scroll text, watermark, and pixelated.

2. VivaVideo – Video Editor and Photo Movie

VivaVideo also has great options such as Christmas themes when December is nowhere in site. Themes you can use are opaque forest, lucid film, summer, macaron, cherry rain, my, viva news, and more. The preview squares are bigger with this app and (in my opinion) has better themes to choose from.

VivaVideo also has an option where you can add sound effects such as sparkle, applause, phone ring, crowd laugh, caw, doorbell, whistle, and more. You can also add the music you have on your device, or you can tap on the red record button and record your own voice.

In the music tab, you can add different kinds of music from various genres. You can choose from genres such as folk, classical, pop, rock, ambient, R&B, children’s, jazz & blues, holiday, hip hop, and more.

The video’s original sound can also be completely or partially excluded by using the sound slider. The slider will indicate in percentage how much of the original sound will be heard.

3. ActionDirector

If you want to keep your video as is and want to add any themes to your videos, ActionDirector is a good option. It allows you to speed up all or parts of your video for that comic look. You can also add filters, stickers, and titles to your videos.

With this app, you can have the audio either fade in or out. This app has curious sound clips such as airport announcement, phone dialing and other sound depending on the topic of your choice.

You can choose sounds from topics such as sports, instruments, work, home, daily life, animals, weapons, transportation, people, environment, and miscellaneous. This app may not have as many options as the others, but the ones it does have are worth using.

4. FilmoraGo – Free Video Editor

FilmoraGo also has unique options of its own. For example, it’s also possible to reverse the video so it will begin from the end. This is an option you’re only going to find in this app.

This feature is hidden in Editing Tools, that can only be seen by swiping up on the options on the right. Once you’re in Editing Tools, select the trim clip option and toggle on the reverse video option.

Just like the other apps on the list, FilmoraGo also offers overlays, filters, speed, audio mixer, voiceover, PIP, crop, trim, and themes. Speaking of themes, you can choose from themes such as the ’80s,  fashion, winter, Chaplin, love, concert, children, and mirror.

Conclusion

Recording a video is an easy task and editing one should also be easy. Thanks to the free video editing apps for Android mentioned above, you can edit your videos even if you don’t get along with technology very much. Which app are you going to start with?
