Gmail is the most popular email service out there. But, just because it’s popular, that doesn’t mean you have to use it. There are other good alternatives if you feel that Gmail is not the right email service for you.

The one you choose is going to depend on what that email service has to offer. It all depends on whether you’re sending emails for work or to friends. Some users like to have several email addresses so their inbox isn’t bombarded with work and personal emails. Let’s see some Gmail alternatives that you may even like more than Gmail.

1. Microsoft Outlook

If you’re a Windows user, then you just might want to give Microsoft Outlook a try. Since it works seamlessly with Office 365, it might give you the experience you’re looking for. With Outlook, you also get to enjoy easy organization by syncing your email to your calendar. There’s also the option to sync it to your contact list as well.

Outlook can also keep you safe from malicious links and phishing scams since it offers a feature where these dangers are neutralized for you. You can view what you have to do for the day and read your emails simultaneously. This way, you don’t have to have two apps open. You can also filter your emails by unread, To me, Flagged, Mentions, and attachments.

2. ProtonMail

If you’re looking for an email service that’s known for security, then you might want to give ProtonMail a try. Even though it does come with limited search and organization features, you can set emails to self-destruct after a specific date. You’ll also notice various encryption options.

3. Zoho Mail

Zoho Mail also has some features to offer. For example, even free users don’t have to deal with ads. You get to use multi-level folders, Filters, drag-and-drop inbox organization, and conversation views. If you’re also looking for a Microsoft Office alternative, you might like the Zoho Mail is also integrated with Zoho Docs as well.  This email service may not be as old as its competitors, but it’s still worth a try.

4. FastMail

Fastmail is another Gmail alternative that won’ bother you with ads. The email service is not free, but it does let you use it for free for 30 days to see if it’s what you’re looking for. The interface is easy to easy, and you can also count on a great spam filter.

If you decide that you do want to upgrade, you can choose from three plans: Basic, Standard, and Professional. Prices ranging from three to nine dollars. Fastmail also includes IMAP access, and you can receive emails from other accounts. Keep in mind that it doesn´t offer labels or folders, so you can keep your mail nice and organized.
