Posted on February 12, 2020 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

Finding cheap flights is the first thing you think about when vacation time rolls around. Who doesn’t want to save money, right? But, with so many options out there which Android apps that help you find cheap flights are worth installing?

The following apps will give you the information you need to find those affordable flights. All the apps on the following list are free, so you don’t have to deal with the whole refund process.

1. Skyscanner – Cheap Flights. hotels and car rental

Just like most cheap flight apps, Skyscanner will help you find cheap flights, but it will also help you find a good hotel and a car rental. It has a nice design and has options so you can plan a trip:

  • This weekend
  • Next weekend
  • Popular destinations
  • Quick getaways
  • Explore everywhere

The app is also testing a price prediction feature so it can help you save as much money as possible. There is no obligation to register when using the app, but to get the full experience (such as to track prices), you’ll need to register.

There’s also a section where you can start planning your next trip. Start by choosing the date, destination, and choosing from the different search results. The app also saves any past, present, or future trips in the Tips section.

You may also like sections such as:

  • Best deals of the month
  • Weekend getaways
  • Solo travel
  • Kid free

As soon as you open the app, there is an Inspire Me tab where the app will offer you various places you can visit. This section is perfect if you just want to get away and couldn’t care less where you’re going.

2. Cheapflights – Flight Search

Cheapflights – Flight Search is one popular Android app when it comes to finding cheap flights. This app does what a flight app should do, it compares various options and shows you the most affordable results it was able to find.

It does give you the option to create an account, but you can still find cheap flights if you decide to skip that part. You can choose to find one-way, round-trip, or multi-city flights.

There are some options you’ll need to sign in to use. For example, the app has an option to plan your trip. You can use features such as filters, notifications for price alerts, and for the app to give priority to the best, cheapest, quickest, or earliest flights.

Other useful features the app has to offer is that you can also:

  • Track flights
  • Find hotels
  • Make car rental reservations

3. Kayak – Flights, Hotels, and Cars

Kayak is one of the most popular cheap flight apps you’ll find on Android. It has a similar design to the previous apps, but with its famous orange color. You can set maximum airfare price, that way, you won’t be wasting time looking through fares you know you’re not going to buy.

Kayak also offers real-time flight status and tells you what commodities you’ll be enjoying on your flight. For example, the app will tell you if there is:

  • Wifi
  • Power outlet
  • On-demand entertainment
  • Meals
  • 31 Inch seat pitch

Kayak will also let you know if it’s also an excellent time to buy or not. Near the top of your display, you’ll see an option that says Our Advice, and if it says Buy, then it’s a good time to buy.

With this app, you’ll also be able to:

  • Track the status of a flight in the air with Map View
  • Countdown timers to track remaining time on flights
  • Offline access to your itinerary and airport maps

4. Hopper – Book Flights

With a 95 percent accuracy rate, Hopper can help you predict prices up to a year in advance. In the Watch tab at the bottom left, you can set up a trip you want to take and keep on eye on the prices. Hopper will show you a constant message letting you know if it’s an excellent time to buy or not.

Hopper also has features such as:

  • Color-coded calendar
  • Filters based on layovers, stops, restrictions
  • Info and tips on airports
  • Future customized deals based on past trips
  • Option to save your payment details in your bunny profile for quick booking
  • No ads
  • No spam
  • 24-hour support by real humans, not machines

Conclusion

Saving money when you travel is something you always want to do. The best place to start saving is when you first book the flight, and the apps on this list will surely help you do that. What app will you be making your travel plans with? Let me know in the comments below.
