Word 2007: Add Caption to Image

How to insert a caption to your photos or images in Word 2007.

1. Click once on the image that you wish to add a caption to.

2. Click References then click Insert Caption.

3. Click New Label if you would like to give your caption a name other than the default of Figure 1. By default, the label will be included at the beginning of your caption. You can check the box to Exclude label from caption and move to step 5 if you don’t wish to include the label as part of the Caption. You can also change the Label from Figure to Equation or Table if you would like to insert one of those instead.

4. Type a Label. Click OK when you’re done.

5. Type the text you would like to appear in the caption of your image in the Caption field. Click OK and your caption will be added to the image.
