SubscribeWindows Defender Update Error: 0×80240029

Error found: Code 0×80240029
1. Click Start, type %windir% in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2. Right-click the SoftwareDistribution folder and select Rename.
3. Rename the file to SoftwareDistribution.old, and press ENTER.
If you get an error message when you try to rename this folder, you may have to restart your computer in Safe Mode. To do this, hold down the F5 key during bootup.

I’m trying to fix my daughters laptop. She’s got the problem highlighted with windows defender and gets error 80240029. Tried fix it zip file. tried following the instructions to rename software distribution folder but nothing seems to work. Windows solution seems to be set it to safe mode and hope! Not Very Impressed. Willing to try another option if there’s one that people know works.
