Windows 7: Disable Explorer Search Suggestion History

Disable the search suggestions from appearing when you type something in the search box in Explorer in Windows 7 with tis registry tweak.

1. Click the Start orb.

2. Type regedit and press Enter.

3. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER
then Software
then Policies
then Microsoft
then Windows
then Explorer

4. Right-click on Explorer and select New > DWORD value.

5. Give it a name of DisableSearchBoxSuggestions with a value of 1.

Close out of the Registry Editor. Your search hustory in Windows Explorer will no longer be saved or displayed.
