We recently invested in our first HDTV for our living room. We thought we could use our Nintendo Wii in 480p mode, which would make a much more clear and sharp picture while playing Mario Kart Wii. We went into Wii Options > Wii Settings > Screen > TV Resolution, but could not select EDTV or HDTV (480p).
I was perplexed. Then I realized that perhaps the regular cable was preventing this setting. Yep, I needed a Wii HD Link Component Cable. This type of cable provides crisp and clearer detail for the Nintendo Wii. Some people have even said that the colors in their games have changed for the better when they install this cable.
Once I purchased and installed the HD cable, sure enough the EDTV or HDTV (480p) option was lit up and available for me to select. I’m now enjoying my games at the best quality I can.
