Insert page numbers into your Word 2007 document.
1. Select the Insert tab, and then select the Page Number icon.
2. Select the position and alignment.
3. If you want to change the numbering style or starting number, click Format Page Numbers. When done click OK.

Set the font you wish to use by default every time you start a new document in Word 2007.
1. Launch Word and hold down CTRL and press D.
2. Choose the font type and size that you want to be the default every time you open Word.
3. Click Default… in the bottom left corner of the Font window. Click Yes.

How to change the of the quotes in Word 2007 from the straight to the curved or “smart” version.
1. From the Office Button menu, select Word Options.
2. Select Proofing, and click AutoCorrect Options… .
3. Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
4. Under Replace as you type, put a check in the “Straight quotes” with “Smart quotes” box and click OK.

Set your Word Document to begin numbering your pages starting with a different number than 1.
1. Under the Insert tab, in the Header & Footer group, click Page Number.
2. Click Format Page Numbers.
3. In the Start at box, enter the page number you would like to Word to start numbering pages.
If you have a cover page and you want the first page of the document to start at 1, set the Start at setting to 0.

How to install the Word 2007 Equation Editor so that you can make math equations within Word documents.
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click once on the Microsoft Office 2007 entry and click Change.
4. Select Add or Remove Features, and click Continue.
5. Click the plus sign next to Office Tools.
6. Click Equation Editor, and select Run from My Computer.
7. Click Continue. Click Close when the install is complete.

Disable the feature in Word 2007 that automatically starts entering numbered or bulleted text for you.
1. From the Office Button menu, select Word Options.
2. Click Proofing.
3. Click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
4. Under “Apply as you type“, deselect Automatic bulleted lists and Automatic numbered lists.
