Give one of your contacts on your Palm Treo Pro a custom ringtone just for them. Here’s how to assign a ringtone to a specific contact.

1. From the Today screen, press Contacts left key.

2. Selec the name you wish to assign a ringtone to.

3 Press Menu right key and select Edit.

4. Select Ring tone.

5. Select the tone you wish to use.

6. Press OK.

How to delete a Memo off the Palm Centro smartphone.

1. Press Applications and select Memos.

2. Select the memo you wish to delete.

3. Press Menu.

4. From the Record menu select Delete Memo.

5. Choose OK.

How to delete photos off of your Palm Centro smartphone.

1. Press Applications and select Pics&Videos.

2. Open the album that includes the picture(s) you wish to delete.

3. Press Menu.

4. From the Photo menu, select Delete.

5. Select the pictures that you want to delete. You can also choose Select All to delete the entire album.

6. Select Delete.

7. Select Delete to confirm the deletion.

How do you set ringtones on the Palm Centro smartphone?

1. From the Main menu, press Phone.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Options.

4. Select Sound Preferences.

5. Select Ringtones in the Application dropdown menu.

6.  Select a ringtone from the dropdown menus for Known Caller and/or Unknown Caller.

Change the Bluetooth name on your Palm Centro. This name is used when other devices are identifying which devices to pair or connect to.

1. Press Applications.

2. Select Bluetooth.

3. Enter a name in the Device Name field.

4. Select Done when you are finished.

Are you not able to recieve any Bluetooth information on your Palm Centro that is getting beamed to you from another Palm Device? There is a setting that controls this, but it’s not in a location where one can easily locate it.

1 Press Applications.

2. Select Prefs.

3. Select Power.

4. Set Beam Receive to On.

This setting is located under the Power Preferences because when the setting is enabled, it can reduce the life of your battery. If you decide to save power and disable it, turn this setting to Off to disable it.

There is an easy way to clear out older email messages on your Palm Centro. You just have to use the purge feature and it will delete messages older than a certain time period.

1. Open Messaging.

2. Select the folder list in the title bar, and then select the folder that contains the messages you want to delete.

3. Press Menu.

4. From the Message menu, select Purge.

5. Select the Purge pick list, and then select how far back you wish to start deleting messages.

6. Select OK.

The Palm Calendar application on the Palm OS can get filled with a ton of items over time. This can seriously slow down your sync time. You can clear out older items by using the Purge feature in the calendar. Here’s where to find this feature on the Palm Centro.

1. Open the Calendar application.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Record.

4. Select Purge.

5. For Delete Events Older Than, choose a time frame to purge items.

6. Select OK.

The Calendar should then delete all the older items in the time frame you specified.

Can’t find the feature that enables you to clear the call log on your Palm Treo 755p device? The PalmOS does allow you to do this. Here’s how:

Delete the entire call log on your Palm Treo with these steps.

1. Open Phone application.

2. Select the Call Log tab.

3. Press Menu.

4. Select Purge from the Record menu.

5. Change the options for Delete calls > all.

6. Select OK.

The Call Log should then be deleted.

How do you uninstall a program you’ve installed on your Palm Treo 800w?

1. Press Start > Settings.

2. Select the System tab.

3. Select Remove Programs.

4. Select the application that you wish to remove.

5. Select Remove.

6. Select Yes.

The program is then deleted off your Treo 800w.

Join callers together on your Palm Treo 800w to make a 3-way conference call.

1. Make your first call.

2. Press Hold (left key) to put the first call on hold.

3. Place another call.

4. Press Conference (left key) to join you and the two calls together.

5. When done with the conference call, press Power/End. If you want to disconnect the second call and return to your first caller, press End Conference (left key).

How to perform a hard reset on the Palm Treo Pro.

These steps will erase all data from the device. You may want to synchronize if possible before trying these steps.

1. Take the back panel off to expose the reset hole.

2. Press Power to turn on the screen.

3.  While pressing and holding End, use the tip of the stylus or a small paper clip to press and release the Reset button.

4. Continue pressing and holding End until the Erase all data? prompt appears.

5. Press Up.

6. Wait for the progress bar on to fill up, then you can use the device again.

If your Palm Treo 800w has become unresponsive or frozen, you may need to hard reset the unit. This will erase all of your data, programs and settings off of the device. Here’s how:

1. Remove the battery.

2. Press and hold Power/End.

3. Keep Power/End held down and reinsert the battery.

4. When the Palm logo screen appears and the progress bar begins to fill, release the button.

5. The Erase all data? prompt is displayed, press Up.

6. Follow the instructions that appear.

Your Palm Trea 800w has been hard reset and hopefully works fine now.

Delete the entire call log on your Palm Centro with these steps.

1. Open Phone application.

2. Select the Call Log tab.

3. Press Menu.

4. Select Purge from the Record menu.

5. Change the options for Delete calls > all.

6. Select OK.

The Call Log should then be cleared.

Too busy to take that call right now? Send it to voice mail by ignoring it. Here are the 3 options you can take to do this.

1. Press Power/End  (unless you are on a call already).

2. Using the 5-way directional pad, select the Ignore option on the screen.

3. Using the 5-way directional pad, select Ignore with Text option. You can then send a quick text message to the caller.

Say your Palm Centro is ringing and you don’t want to ignore the call, but you do want to silence the ring. There’s a way.

While the device is ringing, simply press any button except Talk, Power/End, or Center.

If you have a new phone number along with a Palm Centro, you may need to be reminded what your phone number is. Here’s how:

1. Press the Phone button.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Options.

4. Select Phone.

Not many people take advantage of this feature, but did you know you can beam an electronic business card to another Palm OS device from your Palm Centro? Here’s how:

Ensure that Beam Receive is On on the device receiving the business card.

1. Press Phone.

2. Select Contacts.

3. Select New Contact.

4. Enter all your information for your electronic business card. Select Done when you are finished.

5. Open the Contact you just created.

6. Press Menu.

7. Choose Select Business Card under the Record menu.

Now if you ever want to beam this your business card to another Palm user, you can do so with these steps:

1. Go to any Phone view.

2. Press Menu.

3. Go under the Record menu select Beam Business Card.

You have a blinking bell icon in the corner of the screen of your Palm Centro.

That bell is alerts you have setup on your device that you haven’t tended to. You can hold down the Center button or tap the bell to view them.  You can then either choose to keep the items on this list, or check the item and select Done.

You can clear multiple email messages that are beyond a certain date on the Palm Centro.

1. From the Inbox press Menu.

2. On the Message menu, select Delete Old.

3. Here you can choose the folder and a date range for the messages you want to delete.

4. Select Delete.

5. Select Also delete message(s) on server if you wish to delete the messages from the server also. The messages will then be gone for good if you do this.

6. Select OK.
