To try to solve this problem, try these steps:
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools > Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Click Reset.
5. Click the Programs tab.
6. Click Set programs.
7. Click Set Default Programs.
8. Select Microsoft Outlook.
9. Select Set this program as default.
10. Click OK.
11. Close the Default Programs box.
12. Under Internet Options, click the Programs tab.
13. Click Make default under Default web browser.
Restart Outlook 2007 and see if the links work now. If that doesn’t work, to add the username you are logging in as to the Administrators group. Use the instructions here. You don’t have to keep the user in the Administrators group permanently.

You’ve made an appointment in Outlook 2007, but now you want to cancel it without sending a cancellation notification to everybody. When you delete it from your Calendar, the only options you are provided are:
- Send cancellation
- Don’t cancel
Here’s a workaround for this issue:
1. Click File > Work Offline.
2. Make the changes or delete your Calendar appointment.
3. Go to the Outbox and delete all of the cancellation messages.
4. Go back to File and uncheck Work Offline.
Now a notification will be prevented from being sent out.

So you sent a large message in Outlook, and it’s stuck in the Outbox. You may not have known how large the file was. Now you want to do something about it so that you can maybe rework the email. You can’t delete or stop it because when you do you get the message:

Here’s how to get around this problem:
1. Click File > Work Offline.

If you work in a corporate environment and use Outlook 2007, it will try to select entries from the Global Address List (GAL) first when you send an email. This annoys me and I always change it to just look at my local Contacts that I have added.
1. In Outlook, click Tools > Address Book…
2. Click Tools > Options.
3. For the section that says When sending mail, check names using these address lists in the following order:, click once on Contacts, then use the up arrow on the right to click it to the top.

Worried about losing your Inbox, Calendar or Contacts in Outlook 2007? You want to back them up? Well, if you’re on a corporate network with an Exchange email server, you should understand that your data should be backed up by your company administrator. Should you ever need to recover any information, they would be the ones to contact.
If you use Personal Folders, the information is saved to a PST file on your computer. See Outlook 2007: Add Personal Folders for more information.
If you wish to backup your Personal Folders, there is a file you can download from Micosoft called Personal Folders Backup. This add-in will add a Backup option to your Outlook 2007 File menu. You will then be able to save your files to a location on the network, a flash drive, or whatever location you wish.
The plug-in also works with Outlook 2002 and 2003.

Keep your Outlook 2007 Inbox clean and tidy by setting up AutoArchive.
1. In Outlook 2007, select Tools > Options…

2. Click the Other tab, then click AutoArchive…

3. Set how often you would like AutoArchive to archive your email. In this example, Outlook 2007 will AutoArchive my items every 20 days. Select other options as needed. The other important place on this dialog you may want to pay attention to is the location where it will Move old items to. Some people like to set this path to a network drive that is backed up regularly by system administrators. That way, you won’t lose any data if your hard drive crashes.
Also set how old you would like items to be before they are archived with the Clean out items older than setting. You can also choose to Apply these settings to all folders now. Click OK when you’re done.

Optionally, you can manually archive items any time by clicking File > Archive.
