How to set the IP address manualy in Mac OS X Leopard.
1. Open System Preferences.
2. Open Network under the Internet & Network section.
3. Select Ethernet on the left pane.

2. Select File > Export > Addresses.
3. Select vCard for the export format and click OK.

Prevent iPhoto from detecting and importing photos from your iPhone when you connect it to your Mac.
You can accomplish this by changing this setting:
1. Open the Image Capture application from the Applications folder.
2. Select Image Capture > Preferences.
3. For the option When a camera is connected select No application. Click OK.
Now you shouldn’t be bothered with any prompts to import photos from your iPhone.

Don’t want Spotlight to search certain folders on your Mac? Here’s how to stop it from searching them in Mac OS X Leopard.
1. Open System Preferences.
2. Open Spotlight in the Personal section.
3. Click Privacy.
4. In the area for Prevent Spotlight from searching these locations: Click the plus sign (+) and select the folder you wish to exclude from Spotlight. Alternately you can drag and drop folders into this list as well.
