Screen Flipped Upside Down

Did you walk back to your computer after lunch to find your entire screen is upside down? You have fallen victim to one of the most common office gags. Read this article to find out how to undo this.

Holding down CTRL and ALT while pressing the DOWN ARROW flips the screen upside down.

To undo it, and flip it back to normal, hold down CTRL and ALT and press the UP ARROW.

You can also try CTRL-SHIFT and then “r” … this works for some Dell configurations

HaHa, This just happened to a friend at work but it happened whilst she was cleaning her keyboard :) What’s the chance of that happening? Pressing those exact keys in order. Mind you she is accident prone as the reason the keyboard had to be cleaned was because she spilt tea all over it :D

By the way. If the keystrokes do not work, ensure you are logged into your desktop area and no applications are running.

Feronda, try clicking an empty spot in the task bar, and dragging it back down to the bottom.

I was just wondering which configurations of windows allow this? I had it happen to me at work and figured out how to fix it pretty quick, but when I went home to test it on my computer it wouldn’t work. I have xp at home.

My 10 yr. old son’s computer just froze up on him, and he started pressing the keys on the keyboard all at once, and before he knew what happened, his screen was flipped, so of course, he started screaming and yelling for mommy to come into his room. Immediately when I saw his monitor, I knew what had happened because we used to pull this same prank on each other at work in the office, but I have forgotten how to undo it. So, I told my son that I would get on my computer to find a solution, and then he called me back into his room to tell me that he fixed it, by flipping his entire monitor upside down, so now that I have found the real solution, I can go and fix his screen. Thank You very much!

The ctrl+alt+up arrow did not work for me either. What finally worked was closing all open applications, right click on the desktop and go to graphic option and click normal. Had tried this several times, but only worked once I closed my open applications.
