Samsung Galaxy Tab: Start In Safe Mode

Start Samsung Galaxy Tab in Safe Mode if you wish to troubleshoot problems you are having with the device. Safe mode will temporarily start the Galaxy Tab with factory default software. This comes in handy in situations where you may have installed an app or modified the device in some way that disallows you access. Safe mode will allow you to boot the device, then remove the offending modification.

Follow these steps to start Galaxy Tab in Safe Mode:

1. If the device is on, turn it off.

2. Power on the device. Press and hold the Menu button when the Samsung logo appears on the screen.

3. Continue to hold down the Menu button until the Home screen loads. You should see the words Safe Mode appear in the lower left corner of the screen.

To take the Samsung Galaxy Tab out of Safe Mode, simply power off the device and then power it back on.

You may not be aware that the original (which is what this post is about) did have a menu button.

You may not be aware that the Tab does NOT have a menu button.
