Samsung Galaxy S3: 3 Ways to Enable Silent Mode

Whether on the golf course, at work or in a move theater, there will come a time when you will need to quickly enable Silent Mode on your Samsung Galaxy S3. Putting the device in Silent Mode will silence the ringer on the device. There are 3 ways to accomplish this.

1. Press and hold the Power button until a menu appears. You will then be able to select Silent mode.

2. From any home screen, drag the notification bar down, then select Sound. Check Silent mode to enable it or uncheck it to disable it.

3. Not many people know about this third method. From the phone dialpad, you can press and hold the pound key (#) to enable Silent Mode.

Hey…was just wondering if you noted the same? I have an S3 and was previously on 4.0.4 and when i use to hold down the volume button, it would switch to vibrate mode, and if I pressed it once more it would go on to mute mode. I updated my phone and now on 4.1.1 and the same function does not work. Any idea?
