I recently decided to buy a Roomba. I used it a few times and it’s great. However, when I tried to use it this weekend, I pressed the Clean button and all it did was turn in a circle and beep 9 times. I quickly checked the manual and discovered that this means there is a sensor error. The manual advised me to contact customer support.

I found that I didn’t have to call anybody though. The 9 beeps could mean that something was simply blocking the sensor. Sure enough, that’s what it was. My Roomba had come across a piece of tape that stuck to one of the front sensors. As soon as I pulled it off, everything worked fine.

Each Roomba may have sensors in different spots. Mine has 4 sensors arcoss the bottom of the bumper. Keeping them clear of debris apparently is important. Hopefully if you have this problem, it’s that simple too.
