How to Reset iPhone 4, 4S or 3GS

in iPhone, SmartPhone

A reset may become necessary if your Apple iPhone 4, 4S or 3GS becomes locked up or frozen and isn’t responding. Here’s how to perform both a soft or hard reset.

Soft Reset

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the unit until a red slider appears

2. Drag the slider on the screen.

3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Hard Reset

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Everything is working fine with my iPhone 3g , except my speaker hands free won’t work and I don’t have any sound when receiving calls. check everything in my settings, but still no sound. Vibrates, but can’t hear any ringtone of any kind when someone calls. Thank you for your help.

My iPhone 4 has a restrictions pass code set and I don’t know what it is. When I bought it the nice girl in the shop put the SIM in and started setting it up. I don’t know if that was when the restrictions were turned on, but its set to On and I didn’t set a code. Can I remove this pass code if I restore the phone?
