Question: I have my Internet through my cable company, but my modem dials whenever I try to go out to the Internet. It happens as soon as I open Internet Explorer.

Solution: IE is setup to use a dial-up connection. This setting needs to be disabled. Here’s how:

1. In Internet Explorer click Tools > Internet Options… .

2. Click the Connections tab.

3. Check the radio button for Never dial a connection.
