Outlook 2007: Cancel Calendar Appointment Without Sending Cancellation to Attendees
Posted by Mitch on Aug 23, 2009 under Office Tips | 4 CommentsYou’ve made an appointment in Outlook 2007, but now you want to cancel it without sending a cancellation notification to everybody. When you delete it from your Calendar, the only options you are provided are:
- Send cancellation
- Don’t cancel
Here’s a workaround for this issue:
1. Click File > Work Offline.
2. Make the changes or delete your Calendar appointment.
3. Go to the Outbox and delete all of the cancellation messages.
4. Go back to File and uncheck Work Offline.
Now a notification will be prevented from being sent out.

Tried the suggestion of working “Off Line”, but as soon as I came back on-line, Outlook calender created and sent the update.

I had an appointment cancelled by an outside party, suspect owner of the calendar. Is there a way to confirm this suspicion?
