After using the LG Nexus 5X smartphone for a few days, we noticed a problem where the sound would cut out intermittently while listening to music, playing a game, and using other sound features.
For example, music would play for a few seconds, then you would hear a “click”, followed by silence.
It appears this is a common issue for Nexus 5X users, and the problem is often caused by the Google Now app listening for the “OK Google” command. It appears the only way to fix this issue is to disable the command listening feature. You can disable it with these steps.
- Select the apps slider on the home screen, then open the “Google” app.
- Select “Menu” > “Settings“.
- Choose “Voice“.
- Choose “Ok google detection“.
- Slide the “From the Google app” option to “Off“.
Hopefully, this cures any sound problem woes you’re experiencing.
