Motorola Droid Won’t Turn On

There have been a few times where my Motorola Droid has absolutely failed to power on. When pressing power a few times doesn’t do the job, here are some things you can try.

  • Plug the device in for a few seconds. Even if the battery appeared to be full before the problems, it may have drained quicker than you think.
  • Press Shift + Delete + X at the same time. This is a way to soft reset it. This has rebooted the device for me when things seemed bleak on several occasions.
  • If resetting doesn’t do the trick, try taking the battery out of the device for a few seconds. Place the battery back in and see if the device will power on then.

If after these steps the Droid still won’t turn on, it may be time to call your dealer to see if you can swap it out for a new one.

February 2nd 2013, My motorola 3 droid phone (with Android software) would not boot up…I tried all methods mentioned on this site and nothing seemed to work for me. I had it on the charger {outlet..(not computer usb because the voltage provided from your computer or laptop is not sufficient enough to power devices…its really a waste of time unless you have 24hrs to spare or an apple product)

It finally came on when i removed the micro SD card and battery…I plugged it in and viola a question mark appeared on the screen looking for the battery..
This solution worked for me and i hope it will work for another.

Oh … the key pad on the phone is the same on a laptop/keyboard..
there you will find the shift key…and delete is the backspace…

    hope this helps…

My droid froze on me this morning and I had to take the battery out. It won’t turn back on. I’ve put in the extra battery I have and it won’t turn on. The batteries are charged. The phone is also almost hot to the touch even though i haven’t been able to turn in on for about 7 hours now.
