Kindle Fire: Enable Browser Debug Menu

There is a special menu available for the web browser on the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet that you can access by typing about:debug in the address bar and tapping Go.

This will add the following options when you select Menu > More.

  • Dump navigation cache
  • Dump V8 counters

It will also add the following to Menu > More > Settings.

  • Single column rendering
  • Use wide viewpoint
  • Normal rendering
  • Enable tracing
  • Enable light touch
  • Enable nav cache dump
  • Debug user agent

Now the question for most people would be “What do these options do?”. My answer would be “Not sure!”. You can find out about a few of them though over at StackExchange.
