iPod Touch: Set Song to Repeat

by Mitch

in iPod

The location where you can set a song to repeat escapes some iPod Touch owners. Here’s how and where to find it:

1. From the Now Playing screen, tap the album cover.

2. On the right-side of the bar that appears, select the Repeat option until it appears with a 1 by it.

Note: If you tap the Next button it will skip to the next song in the list. The repeat song function only works if the song ends naturally.

If you wish to repeat the entire current list of songs, you would want to tap the icon until it shows without the 1 next to it.

i set the repeat button the way i want it, but the screen is so sensitive that i accidentally change the setting. is there a way to set this repeat function more permanently? a setting somewhere on another screen so that it will always repeat until i go into this setting and change it?

Can’t see Repeat button on Now Playing on my 4th gen iPod Touch. I tap the artwork and get the Email, 30 Sec Backup, and Playback Speed icons and that’s it.

My wife owns an IPod Touch and I use it on occasion. It’s a pretty nice little device, but I just don’t get why people think Apple software is so fabulous. Why would it occur to anybody to “tap” the album cover art in order to display the time bar and repeat button? And don’t tell me to read the User’s Manual: I shouldn’t need the manual to figure out something so fundamental. Absolutely not intuitive.

Thanks, Sammy! I thought I was losing my mind because I knew I had used the repeat function before, but then it was gone and I couldn’t figure out where it went :-)) I have a habit of holding my iPhone in “landscape” vs “portrait”, so that was why my screen taps weren’t working!!! Glad to have the feature back again – I learn music for a chorus I sing with, and the repeat function is invaluable for hammering notes and words into my head ;-))
