iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone Apps Say “Waiting” When Installed

by Mitch

in iPod

A common problem with iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone apps is that they sometimes get stuck saying Waiting and they are never fully installed. In this case, you may not be able to remove the app because when you tap and hold the icon, the X never appears.

iTouch apps say Waiting

When this happens, you’ll need to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Power buttons for about 15 seconds. Ensure you have a connection to the Internet and the device should then restart and allow the “Waiting” apps to fully install.

Sometimes the app will disappear. In this case, try to download or sync the app again.

How do you check your internet connections?

ALSO, one could go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ where one can address iTunes via email or chat and get the issue resolved IF the reset doesn’t work.

iTunes has up to 24hrs to resolve your issue but most of the time its resolved within 2hrs or so. They can also re-grant the app or tell you if you have a corrupt file as the reset isn’t always going to work.

I hope this helps as a secondary measure if nothing else.
