iPod Conflicts With Network Drive Letter

I recently experienced a problem with my iPod Shuffle where it would take over one of my mapped network drives. This became increasingly annoying. Sometimes my music files would get copied out to the network drive instead of the iPod. Luckily I was able to solve the problem by changing the drive letter to the iPod.

1. Right-click My Computer and select Manage.

2. Click Disk Management on the left side.

3. Find the drive letter that the iPod uses on the lower right side and right-click on it. Select Change Drive Letter and Paths…

4. Click Change.

5. Select a new drive letter. I like to use I for iPod. Click OK. Click Yes on the warning that appears.

Select drive letter

You’re done. Now your iPod shouldn’t conflict with your network drives.
