iPhone/iPod Touch ‘White Apple Logo Screen of Death’
Posted on Aug 07, 2008 under iPhone Tips, iPod Tips |Are you getting the White Apple Logo Screen of Death on your iPhone or iPod Touch? Many people that hacked their devices to enable open source software to run on them. When upgrading to firmware version 2.01 though, many have found their iPhone or iPod Touch will not boot past the White Apple logo screen.
Unfortunately, the only thing you can do to remedy this problem is to reset and perform a full system restore.
1. Press and hold Sleep/Wake and Home until the iPhone resets.
2. When the Apple logo appears release Sleep/Wake. Do not release Home until you see the prompt to connect the iPhone/iPod Touch to iTunes.
You will then need to update the firmware, and proceed with restoring all of your applications and settings.

This doesnt work. Nice try though. I’ve done every kind of restore, even the DFU system restore. Nothing.

It does work. At first I let go of both buttons after the power cuts off, and then press home, that didn’t work. You have to only let go of the sleep/power button, and wait while holding home. If that doesn’t work, then there are problems with the hardware.
