FAQ

When I type certain names and words automatically appear in ALL caps. How can I turn that off?

There is no option for that. However, you can spell the word as you like with the proper case, then tap it to add it to the dictionary. Visit our post about adding words to the iOS dictionary for more information.

Brian. Do you know if there will be a fix for this. It is most frustrating, especially for email addresses. Older versions of OS allow this to be turned off, but it seems this option has been removed. Hopefully it will be put back.

iOS 9.3.2 still insists on capitalising the first charcter in the sentence. This is so frustrating, using the iPhone iPad for reasearch I’m continually playing tricks just to force the first to lowercase. Disabling this in “settings” has no effect, apart from certain conditions which are claimed to disable this festure it continues regardless.
