iPad: Perform Soft/Hard Reset

by Mitch

in iPad

If your iPad keeps freezing up or is acting unresponsive, it might be time to reset the device. If you’ve already tried to force quit the app and things still aren’t working well, try these steps.

Soft Reset

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears.

2. Drag the slider.

3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

If this doesn’t fix the problem you’re experiencing, try the steps for a Hard Reset below. This will erase everything off the device and start you off fresh.

Hard Reset

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds. The Apple logo will appear, and the device should complete the Hard Reset.

When you say….This will erase everything off the device and start you off fresh.

Does that mean all applications, pictures etc?

I tried to do a sync with itunes & it setup the mail accnts again so there are 2 sets of the same mail accounts showing on the ipad. How do I remove the extra 2 or remove all & reset them up? Not sure if that was clear…let me know if you need any further details.
