How do I delete multiple contacts from my device?

The ability to delete multiple contacts is not currently available within the Apple iOS system. You can try to use a third-party app such as Cleanup for such capability.

Why do I receive an error that says “The linked Facebook contact will not be deleted”?

    The answer to the problem:

    Go to Settings
    Go to Facebooks
under “allow these apps to use your account”

Unselect contacts and those Facebook email addresses will disappear from your iPhone Contacts. Done and dusted. It’s actually entirely logical and entirely straightforward.

The fact it took me months to figure out and appears to vex the collected expertise of Apple’s support team suggests Apple’s ideological commitment to making it nearly impossible for the average user to change anything – for their own good – still possesses the philosopher kings of Cupertino.

I cannot find s delete button on the bottom of my contact list on my I phone. What can I do?

Thanks, Mitch. I really appreciate your sharing what you’ve discovered. Makes all the difference to me.

I did all that and deleted the contacts I no longer wanted. I just went to send an email and find that those contacts are still on my IPad. Does this thing have a mind of its own or what?
