Internet Explorer 7: Enable/Disable Sounds on Web Sites
Posted on Apr 14, 2008 under Internet Explorer Tips |Sometimes sounds that suddenly play on a web page can be annoying, especially on a work computer. Here is how to disable sounds in Internet Explorer.
1. Hold down the Windows key and press R (Or click Start > Run).
2. Type regedit and click OK.
3. Click the plus sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
then Software
then Microsoft
then Internet Explorer
then click Main
4. Look for an entry on the right side for Play_Background_Sounds. Double-click the entry and change the value to no to disable sounds. Set it back to yes to if you wish to enable sounds again.
