    Hello Mike,

Is it CA Internet Security Suite that you are talking about? Are you talking about the CA (Computer Associates) Parental Control Software? If your answer is ‘Yes’, then you may Uninstall the CA Parental Control software from your computer.

    1. Go to Start –> Control Panel –> Add/Remove programs.
    2. Highlight CA Internet Suite and click Remove. (Later it will give you a list of products to be removed. Give a check next to CA Parental Controls and click Next / Uninstall.
    3. You will be prompted to enter the CA Parental Password.
    4. Key in the Site override password and click next.
    5. You will be asked to reboot. That’s it.

    Hope this helps…

I have a peculuar problem and hope you can help, or perhaps steer me to someone who can. I enabled C.A. last year and entered a half dozen sites to be blocked. I now want to access those sites but CA refuses to let them go. Regardless of whether I “remove” sites from the list, or “disable” CA entirely, all the sites I listed originally are still blocked. It’s like a program from hell!! Have you ever heard of this condition before?
I’m stumped and would sure appreciate some advice.
    Thanks,
    Mike

If you forget your password and stuff your whole IE7 as my mate did, you can remove the password and reset it this way:

    1) Click on Start and choose Run.

    2) Type in RegEdit and select OK.

    3) Now click on the little plus sign to the left of H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

    4) Continue to drill down, always clicking on the plus sign at the left of the named key, through Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version and Policies.

    5) Now click on the Ratings folder.
    [AD]

    6) In the right pane of the RegEdit window, you’ll see an icon called Key. Click on it and press Delete.

    7) Next, choose Registry and then Exit to exit RegEdit. You’ve just deleted your original Content Advisor password.

    8) Restart the computer and run Internet Explorer again.

    9) Choose View and then Internet Options (or Options for version 3.x). For IE 5 or greater, Click on Tools, Internet Options.

    10) Click on the Content tab and click on Disable. When asked for a password, don’t enter anything; just click on OK. This will disable Content Advisor because there’s no longer a password.
