HTC Touch: Hard Reset

If your HTC Touch has somehow become unresponsive or frozen, you may want to try a hard reset if the regular reset button in the back doesn’t work. A hard reset will wipe all of your personal data off of the HTC Touch.

1. With the device turned on, press and hold the Volume Down and Enter buttons, then press the Reset button with the stylus tip.

2. Release the Reset button, but continue pressing the Volume Down and Enter buttons until you see this message on the screen:

This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default.
Press Volume up to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.

3. Release the Volume Down and Enter buttons, then press the Volume Up button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

Incorrect procedure stated above (requires at leats 3 hands ;-) ). The correct way to hard reset is to press & hold both TALK and END buttons, then press the reset button & continue to hold the TALK & END buttons until an ‘are you sure…’ message appears.
