Hard Reset Palm Centro

Is your Palm Centro device locked up and frozen. You might want to try a hard reset. Here’s how.

1. Remove the battery from the rear of the unit.

2. Hold down the power button while reinserting the battery.

3. When the Palm logo appears, release the power button.

4. Press the Up button to complete the hard reset and erase all data on the Centro.

yup bobo - very helpful … the first palm logo comes with a black progress bar… keep power button pressed till the end and the moment the screen goes blank and another palm logo appears (without a bar this time) leave the power button.

Then press the Up button to reset or down to cancel

WOW! It worked! Thank you so much! I was gonna have to run by the AT&T store after work when I didn’t really have the time to. I stayed on the phone with them for 1 hour last night and we got nowhere. This is way too cool. Bless you!!!

Um. When I try this, I just see the second logo forever and the up button does nothing. If I boot my phone normally it still has tons of problems. Any ideas?

Hmmm. I tried the hard reset. Got to the Yes or No question and hit the up button to erase the data. Then it came right back to the same Preferences/Date & Time setup screen and still won’t accept key input or touch input. Any ideas? The phone was brand new 3 days ago and worked fine until this morning. I unplugged it from the charger and it was frozen….

    Hi Ace,
I got the exact same problem here. It got stuck at the Date & Time screen, won’t accept any input.

Anyone knows how to fix that?

Is this a persistent Centro problem? I got mine three days ago - for a day the keys wouldn’t work, tried the hard reset, did everything -then I get a call , answer it fine and afterwards it is working again. I can’t figure this out. Is there a software glitch?

i was reading the manuals that came with mine and i guess i downloaded versamail to my phone, and idk how to delete it off the phone, but i deleted off the computer, and im wondering if a hard reset will fix it, cause i just got it and i dont want to take chances to mess it up
