Need your Motorola Droid  smartphone to work with Yahoo Mail. Just set it up using these steps.

1. Go to Settings > Wireless & networks and turn Wi-Fi off.  (You have to be connected to the phone network in most cases. Otherwise you will get username or password incorrect errors.)

2. Launch the Email app.

3. Enter your Yahoo email address and password, then tap Manual Setup.

4. Tap IMAP account.

5. Enter the following information:

Username: Your full email address with @yahoo.com included (be careful here. It will default to just the username).
Password: You’re Yahoo Mail password.
IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com

When done, sroll down and tap Next.

6. Enter smtp.mail.yahoo.com for the SMTP server and tap Next.

7. Give the account a name. It doesn’t really matter what it is. The Your name field should be filled out with your name of the person or place your email is coming from when it’s received.

8. Click Done.

That’s all it takes to get Yahoo email setup on the Droid. Remember to keep Wi-Fi disabled whenever you try to access your email. Yahoo Mail will only work through the wireless carrier’s connection.
