When trying to install an app from Google Play on your Samsung Galaxy S6, you may get an error that says:
Application cannot be installed in the default install location.
There are a couple of things you can do to cure this problem. Just follow these steps.
Fix 1 – Free Storage Space
Your Galaxy S6 might not have any storage space left for the app you are downloading. Select “Apps” > “Smart Manager” to view how much storage space you have left. If you have less than 300MB left, you may need to free space. Select “Clean All” to clear some storage space.
If the Smart Manager can’t clear enough storage space, you may want to consider uninstalling some unwanted apps or deleting videos or photos from your device.
Fix 2 – Clear Google Play Data
Sometimes this error can be caused by corrupt Google Play data. try the following steps.
- Open “Apps” > “Settings” > “Application manager“.
- Swipe over to the “All” list.
- Select “Google Play Store“.
- Select “Manage storage“.
- Choose “Clear all data“.
Note: These steps will clear all data used by Google Play, including search engine data.
