Web sites that take over my Firefox browser window really annoy me. You know, those sites that use JavaScript to resize your window or even move it to another part of your screen? There is an option in Firefox that can prevent this from happening

1. In Firefox, select Tools > Options… .

Firefox - Tools - Options

2. To the right of the Enable JavaScript option, click the Advanced… button.

Firefox Options

3. Uncheck the box for Move or resize existing windows.

Firefox - Advanced JavaScript Settings

Now those tricky web sites won’t be able to move or resize your window anymore.

I, too, got lazy and just put up with it. But I gave in when it did me wrong once again. I’m very pleased. Thanks for the useful info.

Thankyou! Just what I was looking for, I hate popup ads resizing my painstakingly adjusted window locations.

Thanks! I just googled this page to find the option for this after having my browser forcefully re-sized. Invaluable information.
