Apple iPhone users may experience a problem when opening the Mail app where an error message is displayed that says:
“Account Restriction – This iPhone is restricted from creating mail accounts”.
This problem happens because of a restriction set in iOS settings. Many users accidentally set this restriction and forget about it. If your iPhone was issued to you by your employer, they may have set this setting.
To change this setting, follow these steps:
- From the Home screen open “Settings“.
- Select “General“.
- Select “Restrictions“.
- Enter the password. If you don’t know the password, you may have to ask the person who set it. Sometimes a family member who had previous access to the device is to blame.
- Choose “Accounts“.
- Select “Don’t Allow Changes“.
