This registry hack controls whether the Numlock option is enabled or disabled when you first login to Windows.

Go to START–>RUN and type REGEDIT. This will open the registry editor.

Find the following registry key:

HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard

Change the value of InitialKeyboardIndicators

Set it to 0 to set NumLock OFF
Set it to 2 to set NumLock ON
