Wipe all the data from your Droid X smartphone with these steps.
1. From Home, press Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Privacy.
4. Choose Factory data reset.
5. Select Reset phone.
All data will then be deleted from the Droid X.

I have done this multiple times, and my apps all automatically download to my phone. i have unchecked the back up settings on google blah blah blah and rebooted to no avail. any tips?
