Probably the number one question I get about BlackBerry’s from people is “How can I forward my calls to a number and then an office extension?”. I thought that I could write a tutorial on this easily. So I started playing with the BlackBerry Curve and the Storm. I tried to add Call Forwarding numbers on both. Nowhere did it give me the option to add extensions. I couldn’t even add pauses, waits, pound signs(#), stars(*), or anything that would allow me to dial my office extension.
I found this very strange. I thought there had to be a solution somewhere. Unfortunately after searching for a solution for several hours, I have been unable to find a way to forward to something other than just a straight phone number. You just can’t put anything other than numbers in the phone number filelds to forward to.
Perhaps there is some type of third-party software solution I don’t know about? If anybody comes up with a solution to this, myself and fans of this web site would appreciate it if you submitted a comment or post on how this could be accomplished.
