Can’t Cut/Copy and Paste From Firefox

This week I’ve experienced a problem with Firefox after the updated they have been pushing. I was unable to cut, copy and paste from Firefox. I couldn’t copy URL’s, text from web pages or anything. I started Firefox in Safe Mode and the problem was gone. It appears that my StumbleUpon Add-on was causing the issue. Once I disabled it, the problem went away when I started Firefox in normal mode.

I have been regularly running into these problems with Firefox lately. I would blame the add-on developers, but other plug-ins have stopped working with each Firefox update. It’s starting to influence me to switch back to IE.

I also had the firefox Copy/paste problem; read about disabling the yahoo add on within firefox. on my laptop it worked fine afterwards, thanks to “Cody’s” advice. Thanks again.

  3. For me to fix it, I hit “tools”, “add-ons”, and disabled Google’s toolbar for Firefox and that fixed it. Thanks for the direction I found here!

well, well, well, It is definitely an add-on problem, mine was a $tupid “shockwave flash” add-on. So, what I would do guys is: I would go trough every add-on and disable them one by one and see which is the one causing the problem, by the way, FIREFOX STILL KICKS A$$

    Hi,

I had the same bug, I checked my add on’s and found “ask toolbar” I uninstalled it and now it’s working fine. So yeah just uninstall your add on’s one by one and see which add on is causing it.

I got sick to death of this problem so went searching for an answer and found it on this very page.
All I had to do was go to TOOLS, click on Add-ons and disable the yahoo toolbar.
    Easy as.
Been cutting & pasting to my hearts content ever since.

Framework 1.1 was doing it for me. I disabled it and the menu is now fine. You can still do ctrl+c and ctrl+v though regardless if menu is working or not.

Firefox used to be a kick a$$ browser now is a stink a$$ one! It’s slower and less stable than safari.

Sure in firefox you can customize features through extensions, but what’s the use if it makes you waste your time trying to look-up fixes to problems that should not be there? You just end up with a customized garbage.

I have the SAME problem. Never figured it out so I’ve been spending hours retyping stuff. Firefix has really gone DOWNhill in the last 12 months.
